Custom fields in Plans - question

Hi -

I am trying to build a custom field in Plans that somehow "links" to existing information in Attributes.  The goal is to make things as simple as possible for our major gifts officers, who tend to not have the inclination to go searching from tab to tab.  We have an attribute called "P2G Score" which I'd like to also show up as a custom field in the patron's Plan.

Is this do-able?  And if it isn't - how would you suggest I go about bulk uploading all of these scores into the Plans?  I don't think there's a utility for this the way there is for Attributes.

Thanks, and sorry in advance if this makes zero sense.

    Hey Lisa,

I'm not sure what range your P2G Scores are, but you should be able to use the Plans Maintenance Screen to update your custom field from lists based on your attribute.

An idea out of left field would be to stop using the attribute all together and instead only use the plan custom field. This wouldn't work if you need to have scores for people without plans, but it could also be an opportunity to think about using plans for everyone from the get go.

  • I tried to go that route and have not had any luck.  When I go to save, I get this error message:

"There was an error deserializing the object of type Tessitura.App.Client.CustomDataItems. The value " cannot be parsed as the type 'Int32'.
