Best practice question around usage of content tabs

If I wanted to add 4 fields to hold additional data on a production season.... is the best practice to create a new table and add a form to the custom tab or creating a new field in tkw to house that data?

My concern is using the content tab for something that it is not intended to do which will eventually come back and bite us.

What are your opinions?

  • All very good information.

I was thinking about storing information that applies directly to information about the production season itself such as the set is a remount, but built new costumes, etc.   Nothing earth-shattering, but just a place to store additional data without interfering with the primary function of the database.   When I got right down to it, maintaining a separate table & form for a maximum of 4 potential tracking fields seemed like overkill.

I’m going to pop back into Test and see what damage I can do there. Mwah ha ha..

Thanks for the assist and great advice.

    Merry Holidays to everyone!
