Hello all!
We are looking for ways to clean up our source code usage at our front gate. We currently have the source codes remain from order to order- so once they put in a source code, it will persist to the next order. Once it's changed, the new one will persist to the next, and so forth. That works, however there's always the potential for staff to forget to change it, or simply not bother to change it, rendering the reporting inaccurate.
Is it possible to have Tessitura auto-select a source code for each transaction? Naturally the staff would be able to update/change the source as needed, for pricing rules or for different situations, but if most of our guests are buying tickets with our default 'General Sales' source category, could we set it up so there's less room for error?
Thanks!
Nathanael,
I don't believe it's possible to have an auto-set source, but in your MOS set up, there is a setting called Clear Source No - when checked the source from the previous order is cleared with each new order in the MOS. If unchecked, the source from the previous saved order is retained in each new order until the MOS is changed. Then, make sure you have Edit Srce Reload checked so that they can edit if needed.

Thanks! I appreciate the reply.
That's more or less what I'd figured- we currently have the Sources set to persist from order to order, which has been working well, but we've had a few hiccups.
I'll take a look at our settings, and see if we can streamline things further. Thanks again!
Sources are always going to be a major vector for human error (or more often, indifference). I'm sure you've already looked into it, but I thought I would also bring up flagging sources for a hotlist, something we only started doing recently.
The Hotlist field is used to flag the source for listing on the source hot list. Sources on the hot list float to the top of the source list in the Select Source window in contributions and/or ticket orders. The field defaults to None. It can be changed to Both (hot list for both contributions and ticket orders), Cont (contribution hotlist only), or Tkt (ticket order hotlist only).

Thanks for your reply! We'll be looking into further options as time goes on, and hotlists might be helpful.
