Citrix XenApp Printing Issues

Hello,

Posting to find out if anyone else is experiencing issues Printing Reports when printing from the Citrix App?

When trying to Print, nothing happens. We've tried all of the Solutions that Tessitura has suggested (via our RAMP Ticket) with no luck so we are wondering if any other Organizations have run in to this problem and what was done to remedy it?  The suggestions we've tried are as follows:

First off, you can link to a section on troubleshooting printers in Citrix from this page here: knowledgebase article for General Citrix Xenapp Troubleshooting: http://bit.ly/2oN54MG

We've also noticed that sometimes, anti-virus software can cause problems (especially noticed with printing) when using Citrix Receiver. This can be mitigated by putting in an exclusion in the anti-virus software.

The recommended exclusions for the receiver are:

%programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\CDViewer.exe
%programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\concentr.exe
%programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\MediaEngineService.exe
%programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\wfica32.exe
%programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\AuthManager\AuthManSvr.exe
%programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\SelfServicePlugin\SelfService.exe %programfiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\SelfServicePlugin\SelfServicePlugin.exe

Also - if your anti-virus software is webroot, turn off a setting called “Scan files when written or modified”

Please try putting in those exclusions and let us know if you notice a difference. We also encourage you to reach out to your anti-virus vendor to see if they have further recommendations for Citrix Xenapp. This is likely something that your IT team will need to put in place, as it's organization-wide and not specifically Citrix/Tessitura.

    Hi Jolene,

We had (and sometimes still do have) issues with printing from Citrix as well. The problem for us is that we have department codes on all our printers, which are saved in each user's computer printer settings. However, that department code doesn't get passed through Citrix to the Tessitura printer settings, so if you don't manually enter it in the printer settings in Tessitura when you print nothing happens.

I worked with Tess support some to try and fix it. The solution for us would require installing new printer drivers on all machines. Instead, I taught my users where to enter the department code in Tessitura printer setttings each time they need to print.

    Hope this helps,

    Dorothy
