Data Labels in Extractions

Has anyone figured out a way to include data labels in the extraction output? We currently use macros for some of our more standard extractions, but are looking at ways to increase productivity on one-off extractions when using output sets and want to know if there is a way to include the data labels.

  • I am not aware of a direct method to get headers in an Extraction but here a few workarounds that we use:

I created a separate Excel spreadsheet for each of our Output Sets and one for standard Extractions that contain column headers in the first row.  If a user is saving an Extraction directly to a file they can open the file in Excel and copy the column headers from the spreadsheet that corresponds with the Output Set they are using.

For Extractions that do not add affiliated constituent records, you can save the Extraction to a List and then execute the Output Set against the List.  This will give you column headers.

  • Thanks Todd - we're doing exactly the same things. It's just frustrating that you have to do all this extra work.
