Updating Budget in Season Manager?

We haven't used the Budget feature in our Season Manager but would like to do so now.

Several of our seasons have already been set up and ticket sales are in progress.

Is it possible to edit the budget info in the Product Data tab in Season Manager after a season and sales have started?  Is it an regular update or more complicated perhaps requiring an assist from the IT dept.

Thanks

  • Hi Leslie,

Yes, to my knowledge you can edit the Budget field for a performance at any time without any adverse effects elsewhere, since it's just a benchmark to measure your ticket sales against in Season Overview (and RMA, if you use that as well). I've added or updated budgets to performances after they go on sale on multiple occasions without issue.

You can either set budgets individually within Ticketing Setup > Production Elements for a given performance, or you can add/update the same budget amount to multiple performances at once using Season Maintenance. The only time you may need more IT support is if you wanted to do a complicated bulk update (i.e. if you have a spreadsheet with a hundred different perf_nos and different budgets for each one, that could be done more quickly in SQL). But for basic updates, you can do it entirely within the Tessitura client without needing to get IT involved.

    Hope this helps!
