So tell me, what are you using Activities for that you're not getting out of Special Events?
Howard,
Special Events have a financial component to them while Activities do not, so there are many situations where one would be appropriate over the other. We use Activities for several things: tracking invitations & attendance for donor receptions, board and volunteer committee membership, raffle sign up at various places, etc etc. Special Events for galas and the like.
Depending on what you need to track and how you need to report, I suppose you could adapt Events for things w/o payment. I haven’t tried it. Activities are much simpler to set up, though, so might not be worth it. Again, depending on what you want to track.
