Site Search functionality

Hello,

I wanted to raise some a couple issues for comment given that we are expecting an upcoming refresh to the Tessitura Network website. Please feel free to add to this list if you have other needs and wants for site search.

1. Search box in the top right is arbitrarily limited to 34 characters -- way too short for lots of search terms like error messages, database objects, and API methods! This limitation is gone once you actually get to the search page.
2. Site search collections have too much content under "Full Website" that can't be separated out: Community (forums/groups) and Conference Materials Archive are main concerns in my mind. Although it is possible to search community directly, this doesn't help if you are actually trying to exclude community results from a search of the rest of the site content.

I hate to say I've probably been stewing over these for years, but some comments from the web team on what we can expect from the update would be greatly appreciated.
