TranScend Connection Issue

We had an issue that happen to us on Sunday where we lost power to one of our switches for a short period of time. (Battery Backup failed) Anyways to keep a long story short, for the past 3 days we didn't realize that we lost a connection to TranScend or Tessitura CC server.

For the 3 days, we were able to still authorize credit cards but none of the transactions got written to the TPAU database. Well at this point I am sweating bullets. Once we restarted the TranScend servers and the Tessitura CC server all of the transactions started showing up in the TPAU database. (Whoever programmed that failsafe I owe you a big one).

Does anybody know where we lost the connection? (TranScend or Tessi CC server or both)

How were we able to still able to authorize credit cards without a connection to TranScend?

Obviously, Tessitura was flagging or storing the transactions somewhere until the connection was restored. Is there some type script (alert) that I can write to tell me when this happening so maybe I can resolve this a little sooner?  3 days is a little too long for me.
