Cash Drawer Brand

Hi All I'm looking to implement cash drawers with our Tessitura RAMP configured laptops at our temporary box offices. Can anyone recommend electronic cash drawers make or model compatible with Tessitura and the serial to usb type connection? Economical and easy to find/buy drawers would be ideal. Many thanks Justin PIAF

  • Hi Grant

Thank you, I will follow up with him. Unfortunately this request came in from ticketing staff just before we opened our Festival here. We are a couple of days in now so it is too late to implement the auto drawers this Festival (especially using units from Australia we aren’t sure would even work).

We will probably follow up on this task post Festival so having a contact we know can supply the correct model drawer is great.

    Many thanks.

Ok, I just ordered 5 more this month, maybe its a special order.  If you need a quote, just email Scott Mosso over there, Im sure he could help you out.

    Hi Grant,

Thanks for the info, it looks like that model cash drawer is not on that site anymore, also we are in Australia so at the moment I’m looking around for similar drawers with the serial port closer to home.

    Cheers

Yes we had to buy an adapter and you'll need to open a ramp ticket to get the .ini files installed for all users with a cash drawer. There is some setup that needs to be consistent like they need to use the same COM Port on all your workstations. You cant have it be COM1 on one workstation and COM4 on another, otherwise the .ini file wont work. Feel free to email me if you want some more details on the install process. grant.offermann@mnhs.org

    Hi Grant – perfect.

So the HPs only had USB ports and the adaptor worked okay?

    Cheers

  • Anyone have a good recomendation for a US Cash drawer.  With Locally Hosted connection.  The documentation seems to talk about the need for a Serial Connection.  It's been more than a decade since I've seen a serial connection.  (Are folks using some sort of USB to Serial Adapter?)
