We used to be able to create temporary logins in older versions of Tessitura and TNEW, if you recall. Such temporary logins need to be deleted before their owners can use the attached e-mail addresses to create new logins. You should not lose any useful info by deleting such temporary logins. Once you do this, users will be able to create their logins on their own without bothering you.
We did not see any benefit using the “Retrieve your login” option – our ticket office was getting a lot of calls at that time, and we got rid of it without losing much/any functionality. You can do this in TNEW yourself. If patrons do not remember their passwords, they figure out that they need to use the “Forgot your Password?” option. If they had not created a login yet, TNEW tells them so, too. Does this all make sense?

Good thought - thanks for the feedback!

Hi Catherine, I have exactly this problem, and am trying to sort out how best to deal with it. I have been toying with the idea of deleting web logins that haven't been used for x number of years (and perhaps all of the web logins associated with Guest checkout records without constituent-created passwords) to try to reduce the confusion. Does anyone out do this? If so, with what parameters? Obviously all of the constituents with the multiple logins / multiple email addresses were created during merges so we are trying to see if this is an issue with our merges or with our web. These particular constituents are unable to login even if the password is reset and the only way to regain access is to manually delete all of the other logins in Tessitura leaving only one.
