Folks,
I'm just wondering how other people that sell merchandise through Tessitura manage stock control. For us, this is mainly to do with online sales (we're a TNEW site). As an example of the merchandise we're selling, think of a men's t-shirt in SML, MED, LGE.
Do pricing rules in v12.5.1 allow for limiting the number of "tickets" sold to a performance at a particular price type (each size being it's own price type)?
Perhaps I have a seating plan that has each size as a price zone and manage it with hold codes?
What's the received wisdom of you folks already doing this?
Martin
Martin,
We don't really sell merchandise online through our TNEW, but when we do special events (like our 2017/18 season reveal tonight), we create it as an event in Ticketing Setup and use hold codes to manage our inventory of admissions (since we don't ticket through Tessitura, we don't have our seat maps built in it for day-to-day work).
We've actually done it a few times with our TNEW this season to be able to sell items online but also be able to quantity control. We've had buy-it-now auction items for our gala which can only be sold once, we have raffle tickets that are limited to 125 so we can't exceed that amount, and we've done tickets to a progressive dinner which are also quantity limited.
I have to think that you could build a hierarchy within ticketing setup where you can have something like:
Title: Merchandise
Production: Apparel
Production Season: Men's T-shirt
Performance: S, M, L, XL, XXL, etc.
That way you can manage quantity available with hold codes at the performance level for each size of shirt (or other items).
Thank you,
Brian
Hi,
Interesting idea but why not create a theatre with sections called Small, Medium Large etc. This way you would only need one 'performance' .
