We are just starting to investigate Pricing Rules, and I have (I think) a basic question:
In regards to Pricing Rules are they only applied at the order level?
For example during web sales, if we want to limit a buy one; get one free ticket offer to one transaction per patron, can you use pricing rules for that? Can Tess somehow "mark" that this patron has already "redeemed" a buy one; get one promotion and not allow another transaction with that rule to go thru?
Or if they re-login and start a new transaction on the web, will the pricing rule be applied again to their 2nd transaction?
Thank you in advance,
Jessica
The closest thing would be to have Exclusion list – though totally appreciate it could be rather cumbersome depending upon the population.
We have a small group of folks we will be offering $50 discount on tickets – we’ll be using a list and the list will regenerate periodically during the day (so they can only do it once).
Not the best but as close as we can come right now.

Jessica,
Pricing Rules do only work at the order level, not at the patron level. So theoretically you could keep logging in over and over and getting the discount over and over in order after order.
I was talking with some of the Tess Network staff about this at the conference, and I put the idea into their heads (I doubt I was the first) about creating some function to have pricing rules apply the way you're suggesting, but it wouldn't be until at least a couple versions, I'd wager.
Matt
