Sometimes we have a show that starts as a rental ( a special ticket design that is not available for PAH) and later that performance is converted to a regular symphony performance. If we're to change a ticket design when some tickets have been sold to a ticket design available for PAH - will we be able successfully scan tickets at the door?

Hi Sabina - As long as the barcode is formatted the same way regardless of the ticket design being used and the transaction itself is unchanged (still tied to the same event, order, not refunded, or repurchased, etc.) the barcode should still scan successfully. It's just a change in layout of the elements in the ticket design.

Brian, thank you so much for your reply. My concern that the element ID for a barcode in a new ticket design is different - even though the data coded in a barcode stays the same.

The element ID in the design is irrelevant. The key is that it’s rendering the same piece of information from the Tessitura database - the ticket number or N-Scan number data - and unless you’ve reprinted or returned that ticket, the data is the same. (The same principle applies with different ticket designs applied to different price types in the same performance – the element that renders the barcode on each of those ticket designs is a different element number, but they all render the same data).
