v12.5.1 Upgrade Experience?

Does anyone have any input about the upgrade process? Anything I should be aware of? Did anyone upgrade from 12.0.3?

Have to agree with Martin... Our Test environment has been upgraded to 12.5 (from 11.0.4).  Our custom reports need tweaking and we're in the middle of testing, but so far it's been relatively smooth sailing.

I do have a question to post out there for y'all:  Owner, Initiator, Recipient.  How does your organization plan on using these?  Specifically the Recipient fields under the Sub Line items tab in  the order window.

Here's the potential dilemma for us:  season subscriptions.  You have a group leader who purchases multiple packages for her group. The recipient field is super handy for adding the names of the patrons within this group, but what happens when that patrons then passes her tickets onto some one else outside the group?  Do you then change the recipient for that one ticket?  Really what I am asking is what is your company's ticket policies on adding recipients to these orders?  Do you do it for all orders?  Just season subscriptions?  Or just single ticket orders?  Case by case basis, maybe? Any and all answers are welcome!

Thank you for entertaining my questions!

    Cheers,

    Hi Kathleen,

You pick the ASP version for the test app pool. Then you need to add the below setting to the live .ini  master file that will tell the live database not to check the version. All live .ini’s have to have this, both clients and servers. By changing the master .ini for live you should be all set if you are syncing your clients at startup.

    ServiceDatabaseCheck=No

After you upgrade the live system then you must remove that from the ini.

    Hope that helps!

    Gloria

    Hi Gloria,

How did you wind up navigating your Test upgrade, when both your Live and Test APIs are on the same server?  I find myself in the same boat, and was wondering what effect putting .Net 4.6 on your API server had?

    Cheers,
    Kathleen

    Hi Chris,

Regarding .Net, is it true that the new version won’t work with .Net 4 and the old version won’t work with .Net 4? Just wondering how to navigate that when we have the test and live API on the same box.

We are on v12.5.1. in Live as of 1/7/2016, in Test as of 12/30/2015.

We upgraded from v12.5, and are not on RAMP.

Possibly the most painless Tessitura upgrade since the relatively trouble free days before v11. There's the chore of a .Net 4.6 upgrade, but otherwise, no issues, and no new bugs found so far.

  • We’re on 12.1.2 and have both Live and Test api’s on the same server.  We upgraded our Test system to 12.5.1 and installed .Net 4.6 on the api server.  No problems.  Just required a reboot.
