v12.5.1 Upgrade Experience?

Does anyone have any input about the upgrade process? Anything I should be aware of? Did anyone upgrade from 12.0.3?

    Hi Chris,

Regarding .Net, is it true that the new version won’t work with .Net 4 and the old version won’t work with .Net 4? Just wondering how to navigate that when we have the test and live API on the same box.

We are on v12.5.1. in Live as of 1/7/2016, in Test as of 12/30/2015.

We upgraded from v12.5, and are not on RAMP.

Possibly the most painless Tessitura upgrade since the relatively trouble free days before v11. There's the chore of a .Net 4.6 upgrade, but otherwise, no issues, and no new bugs found so far.

  • I would also love to hear experiences of those going from 11-12.5.  We are just beginning our upgrade process now and would like to know of any things we need to watch out for.

    Hello,

We are also starting our upgrade plan from v11 to v12.5 and intend to deploy the upgrade in the last week of April, allocating the testing from the week commencing 4th April.

How are you planning your upgrade? And how much in advance is necessary?

    All comments/ideas/suggestions are very welcome!

    Many thanks.

  • We're in the middle of testing the 12.5.1 upgrade in our Test environment.  We encountered an issue with subscription renewals that were rolled over in 12.1 but hadn't been renewed.  We rollover the orders without a source and populate the source when the subscriber renews.  We noticed unrenewed subscriptions all got a line item source of "Conversion" despite the order source being blank.  Turns out there's a bug in the upgrade script that populates the new line item source field with the first source active source ID it can find in TX_APPEAL_MEDIA_TYPE if the order source is blank.  If you add a source to the order, it doesn't update the source on the line item.  Support logged this as a defect.

  • Joana,

We've moved our upgrade date from this past weekend to May 8th, just because of timing within our organization, but we're anticipating testing beginning the week of April 11th, lasting for 1 week and then we have time to work out any bugs or issues found.

We'll also run through the actual upgrade a number of times between now and May 8th to get our timing down to minimize downtime.
