We have a source that has been incorrectly created and promoted (from WordFly). Unfortunately before this was realised it was selected as the source for an order, which means that I am unable to use the Delete Promotions and Sources utility to remove the promotions and the source.
Has anyone successfully deleted promotions & source once they have already been used and have any tips on the best way to go about it/ gotchas to look out for?
Hi John,
Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately I had already tried removing the source from the order and ran the Delete Promotions and Sources utility in our test environment, and it failed and returned a database error because I was trying to delete both the promotions and source. But your suggestion did give me the idea to try deleting just the promotions and not worry about the source and that works fine. I can live with just making the source itself inactive and not deleting it.
Cheers
Sarah

I have never tried to delete promotions, but you can always change the source number on the offending order by going through the constituent. Possibly once the source number from that order has been changed you could delete the promotion.
Good luck!
