Report that Generates mailto: based on Attribute or Constituency

Hi,

I am looking for a way to generate an email to a short list based on attribute, constituency, etc?
e.g. If I want to send an email to all the board members. Lets say 15 people.

 

I am considering creating a report that would generate a 'mailto:...' string based on the customers returned, but wanted to check if there was another way of doing this first?

 

I don’t think it is possible to have a hyperlink (mailto:...) in a Infomaker report?

So it would need to be SSRS report to a web browser.

Any info appreciated.

    Hi Dara

     

    A really simple way of doing this is carrying out a mail merge.   You can create a mail merge that automatically sends out a formatted email through outlook.  So just pull off the information that you need from tessitura in an output set!

     

    Only problem with this is that every time you send an email it brings up a warning but if this is only for a small number then shouldn’t be a problem.

     

    If you don’t fancy this route have a look at the AP_SEND_SMTP_EMAIL procedure.  Only problem with this is that it is only text.
