Tessitura client startup

Doe anyone know what would cause the Tessitura client to hang at the ' preparing work area ' step of startup?

  • Here's an oddity I'm aware of that may or may not be the problem you're experiencing:

If you have your client preferences set to show you an alert at login of your waiting reports, the startup progress window will stay open until that alert is dismissed. This can cause the following behavior: Log in to the client, and as it is loading, switch to a different application. After the client has loaded, there are two Tessi windows to switch back to--one for the loading window, and the other for the main application window. If you switch to the loading window, the application will APPEAR to be unresponsive, and will look like the progress bar is stuck on "Preparing Work Areas". Once you switch to the main client window, you will see the report alert dialog, and dismissing this will cause the loading window to disappear.

So I guess the followup to your question is: does the loading window hang before the progress bar completes, and is the main client window open at this time?

If this is reproducible, you might also want to try upping the application log level.

  • It seems to be tied to the Windows login profile, somehow.

     - The Tess user account works fine on other machines.

    - The Tess user account works on that machine, logged into the machine with a different Windows account.

    - Other Tess logins hang the application when logged into the machine with that windows account.
