Creating output element that would return only emails with specific purpose

Does anyone know how to create an output element that would return only emails with a specific contact point purpose?  Elements are tricky for me and I don't see anything that specific in the cookbook.

  • Hi Tara,

When you run the output set in Report/Utilities, Electronic Address Purpose is one of the variables you can fill in.

  • I want to create an output set to be used in WordFly

  • Hi Tara,

Did you ever get your output set to be used in Wordfly?  I am hitting a similar issue and just starting to investigate using the outout set but have not yet done so.

  • I did, I had to work with our IT department (they had to do some digging too) to have them build a custom element that was the specific purpose I wanted to pull as Wordfly doesn't work so well with multiple options.

  • Hi Tara,

Are you able to ask your IT department to share the TR_QUERY_ELEMENT they set up for this purpose? I'm sure I could re-create it but may as well not reinvent the wheel...

    Thanks

  • For a specific email contact point:

    Category: Contact Preferences

    Data Select: !.email

    Data from: LV_Contact_Points

    Data Where: !.purpose_id=7 and !.contact_point_cat_id = -2 and !.email_pri='Y'

    Single row is checked.

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Tara, thanks for that.

i think the local view your query is referring to (LV_CONTACT_POINTS) must be custom - any chance you could share the CREATE script with me please?

    Thank you

  • We sure can - I'll send it to your email, David. -Chris Lorenz, Science Museum of Minnesota

    Hi Chris,

Could I also get the custom view create script? My email is gormsby@flynncenter.org. Thank you!

    Gloria

  • I'd love to get the script for that view as well. We're just implementing WordFly and I'd like to include an element in our Output set that returns the email with the contact point purpose selected or the primary email if there isn't one with the contact point purpose.

  • Hi all, there's been lots of requests for this so I've uploaded it to my profile for easy access. This link should work: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/Community/members/davidgeoffreyhall6570/files/LV_5F00_CONTACT_5F00_POINTS_5F00_Science_5F00_Museum_5F00_MN.SQL.aspx

Thanks to Chris and the Science Museum of Minnesota!

  • Hi all

Realise this was posted awhile ago! But we're currently looking for this exact same thing and wondered if it would be possible to have the local view script shared with us? I've tried clicking on the link above but it's expired! Would you be happy to send this to: databaseteam@wmc.org.uk - we would be very grateful!

    Thanks
