Scan codes

We are a venue-less presenter who presents (among other things) a dance series at a venue which is also a Tessitura user. The venue uses scanners for their own ticketed events. At this point, we (the renting presenter) process and print subscription ticketing (most subscribers end up attending our events in multi venues due to the nature of our presentations) which many times will also include dance programs at the venue in question.

I wonder if it is possible to print a bar code on our tickets which would be readable at the Tessitura using venue. In other words, could I populate a table with the info that would work for their seating...as in a mapping table or something like that...a seat to seat equivalency number...?

That would make everyone's life a lot better in this situation if that is possible. And I hope this makes sense.

Are you able to produce unique per-ticket barcodes from your current system? If so, Tessitura is capable (assuming your presenting venue is on 12.1) of doing a live-order import based on a file of data including these barcodes and mapping it to ticket numbers which are generated by the import process and attached to the imported ticket records. Your subscribers would then be able to present their tickets at the door and be scanned in for their subscription performances. The process does require that the performance to be imported into be set up in complete detail in the destination system, with all necessary pricing and other sales information.

That’s a quick distillation of an intricate process, but it’s certainly possible given some forethought and setup. I would recommend reading up on the details of the Order Import Utility for the requirements of such an import process.
