Rather than generate a pdf attachment we’d like to experiment with printing the ticket/barcodes inside the body of the PAH email. Anyone doing this? Or tried to?
Thanks,
…Dave
John
That’s a good point. This might explain some of the problems we are having. Unfortunately we can’t control the brightness of the phone, it is not an app, just a regular email. But we have tested the new scanners and we had a much better success rate with the same phones. We are getting one for more thorough testing in the next month or two.

I get my phone scanned a lot, and I noticed that it scans pretty much everywhere if I have brightness at 100%, but almost never when I have it dimmed to save power. Took me quite a few failed scans to figure out this was an issue. Don’t know if you can hijack the brightness level for the barcode of your app…

For those of you following this post, we decided not to go live with our solution for the June season. The main problem is that our current scanners don't work very well with phones' reflective screen. It was a known risk and one of the issues that we wanted to track in our pilot. But our testing show a success rate of about 50%, not good enough. For our upcoming season we'll be using new scanners that are much better when dealing with reflective screens, so we'll postponing our pilot until November.

We'll probably know by the end of our current season, June 20th. Would like to hear more about how your front of house / customer services / box office is adapting to this approach. --Tom On Fri, Jun 12, 2015 at 11:03 AM, Fernando Margueirat wrote: David We are in the middle of developing our own app for this since we wanted to get rid of PDFs attachments and we were not able to do this with PAH. If everything goes as planned will be doing a pilot run with some staff in our gala next Wednesday.
