DBMS is not supported...

Hello All,

We have a strange situation with a Windows 7 64 bit workstation.  We have installed the client on this workstation and it ran when first installed.  Now, there is a UAC prompt when we try to open it (it didn't do this the first time), and then we get the error:

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Security Check Not Done.  Cannot connect to the Database !

Error:

DBMS  is not supported in your current installation.

I found some other discussions about this error and the fix for me was to delete the shortcut and recopy the shortcut.  I copied it to the "public" desktop, and it ran fine...until I rebooted the workstation.  After the reboot, I get the same error.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Allen

  • This will sound odd, especially as you've been able to run on the machine previously; but do you have the full required version of .Net installed on the machine?
I've had this error previously and installing or re-installing .net has fixed the issue when everything else has failed.
