Tessitura Version 12.1 in a Thin Client Environment

We our considering switching to a Thin Client environment using Microsoft Terminal Services. I was wondering if any other organization and what kind of issues you have encountered.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Thank you Dmitrij our CTO has a question regarding the version Windows Server :

What version of Windows Server is being used for RDS – Windows 2012 R2 or something else (Windows 2008 R2 or Windows 2012)

    Hi Robert,

We are currently running 12.03 using RemoteApp, issue so far we are having:

Printer queues, for some weird reason group policy keeps creating multiple queues for the same printer. This causes printers disappear in Tessitura.

Tessitura hangs every time we try to save files as excel on the network. Workaround we found is to save files as .csv (could be issues with our network/server configuration, but we couldn't identify cause)

Tessitura 12.03 has window display issues with RemoteApp.

As well you will have to use custom logon script with Tessitura in order to make it work correctly with RemoteApp and TNSPay clients.

    On positive notes:

Using Remoteapp we can remote to any tessitura user via server.
We have more security and control of application using RemoteApp client, which allowed us to be PCI compliant.
Less issues with client installs and management of the installs.
Upgrade of all clients can be done under 30 minutes.

    Kind regards,

    Dmitrij
