NCOA

I'm about to try and use this utility to import address changes.  The excel I'm working with was not exported from the NCOA utility so it does not have a session ID (column 1) and I also have no NCOA Reulst Code (Column 55).  Both these columns are required to have data.  If I just throw in random numbers will it still work?  Thanks

  • The session number does not matter but the result code is very important.  The code determines how the data is processed by the utility.  Here’s an excerpt from the document for this utility:

     

    Result codes are specific to the NCOA Update vendor used.  Codes are mapped to actions in the TX_NCOALINK_RESULT_ACTION system table, which is populated by default with the result codes used by MBS.  If MBS is not the vendor, the codes used by the chosen vendor must be added to the TX_NCOALINK_RESULT_ACTION system table.

     

    So you can make up a code, but you have to then map it to the action you want to take for entries with that code.
