Tessitura On The Go ACL

Hello,

We are just starting to roll out Tessitura on the Go to our users but we want to keep a tight control over who can get to it.  Obviously we don't want random people getting in but also people we haven't approved to use it (part-timers, interns, etc).  Has anyone else addressed this issue?  Any solution or recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Sean

Nick’s comment raises one of my questions:

I know TOTG reports come from SSRS reports, and inherit the control group from the SSRS report.

Our Marketing manager would like one or two TOTG reports, but not all.

The other SSRS reports he will review when he’s in the office.

Has anyone created special control groups for TOTG reports only?

    Thanks

    Wendell

Is TOTG not controlled by the same security objects (for constituents, plans, reports) used in the client application?

Sean, I can offer some slightly indirect advice.

We have been using tessitura data on our enterprise iPad app for a few years now.  From the beginning, we've required the devices to use a VPN connection.  The results from this were less than favorable and cause the users to simply not want to connect.

On the bright side, the last couple releases of iOS have really enhanced the VPN capabilites, including per-app-VPN and VPN on demand.

It could be possible to NOT restrict the installation of the app per user (although with a proper MDM you could), but instead limit their access to the VPN so only approved VPN users access the data offsite.

In case you're wondering - we do all this with a MAG series Juniper VPN appliance, Maas360 MDM, and certificate based authentication (deployed with Maas360's clould extender).
