post conversion issue...

I have an issue, a post conversion issue....

I need to close out imported pledges where the pledge amount and the donated amount do not equal.  All of these pledges where adjusted or written off in previous systems so tracking them a write-offs is not all that important.

The number of records needing adjustment is high, so I need to accomplish this adjustment with a script.

I am wondering:

1.  Has anyone else done this?
2.  Do I only have to set the pledge = to the amount paid?

Any suggestions?
