contribution fund vs check date

Hi,

Our contribution processor has hit an issue: we've just turned the fiscal year, and she needs to enter a contribution towards one of our new fiscal year campaigns.  But the check involved is dated prior to the fiscal year turnover, and it is not letting her enter the gift.  We're almost certain this has never been an issue before, but we have made a few changes to our campaign/fund structure recently.  What would it be choking on?  Presumably not fund date: we can't move those around because fund dates can't overlap from one campaign year to another.  Campaign?  We haven't had to back-date them in the past.

Any troubleshooting advice?
