Order Import Utility problems

We are trying to use the Order Import Utility with a file created by an Order Export Utility from another Tessitura organization.  The problem is when i run the Ticket Order Import Utility in review mode i get no errors and no data is brought over either.

 

Any ideas what i am doing wrong.  The file is in .txt as that is what the other organization sent.  I am also on RAMP.

  • You need to run the utility in Import Orders mode to get data added to the database.

    I don't feel that i was completely clear in my original post but in Review Mode i should be getting some more information in the 'Import Process Log' than i am currently getting in Review Mode.  I have read over the documentation and i should see how many potential successes and failures will occur and I am not even getting that information. 

    There does not seem to be a point to run this in Import Mode until I know what the import will be which I am currently not seeing.

     

    I am not seeing any of the BCP data which will show up even in Review Mode.

  • Hi Margaret,

    Yes, you should be seeing something like you describe. Funny thing is I feel like I've gotten the same lack of output that you're seeing at some point in my order importing ventures, but I can't remember what the fix was.
    Try a couple of these troubleshooting ideas.

    Rename the file to something short and without spaces.
    I think there used to be an issue with file names and I'm not sure if that has been fixed.

    Edit the import file down to just one record and see if that gets you the proper information when running in review mode. If so, you know it might have something to do with the data somewhere in the file. 

    Probably the best thing to do is to export a file from your own system and see if you can get that to show anything when trying to import in review mode. If not, then you're likely dealing with either a problem with your tr_import_order_set settings, or with accessing the file from Tessitura.
