I wanted to setup a SQL job that will call the api diagnostics and report back if the invocation fails. Before I get busy writting SQL code I thought I would see if anyone else has done this and if they care to share their code.

that is a very good idea, but I don't think anyone has done this job.
I put this on the next generation Tessitura wish list. we need an admin tool to monitor the Tessitura.
report server, cc server, seat sever, PAHT eticket windows service, web API, sql server, barcode printer. what a mess.
but according to powerpoint document for Tessitura 10+. it still will go with PowerBuilder. so I think the wish list will always be wish list, never be a task list.
web api is IIS based web serivce. if you'd like to check web api , it more like checking IIS.
How SQL code can check IIS?
Possibly You need a web page A to check another web page B.
we have a custom report, it only monitors one thing:
A list of performances display as "sold out" on web still having some tickets.
