Web Login and eaddress requirement

Hi,

Is it possible to create an account via the Web without an email address?  We want to allow people the chance to log into their existing account (with a login we created) and have them make changes to a subscription renewal without the need of an email address.  Anyone out there do something similar or is this not possible with how Tessitura is set up?

Thanks,

Tiffany :)

    Tiffany,

As far as I know, this isn't possible. With V11 the login needs to be an email address that matches an address on the patron's account.  I know that in earlier versions this wasn't strictly the case.  I've seen organizations in the past create a login and temp password and then put that information on the renewal notice that gets mailed to the patron.

But with V11 I don't think you can do this anymore.  And with V12 it will be even less likely since the passwords will no longer be visible in anyway to a Tessitura user.

I'm sure with enough time and programming chops something could be worked out, but as things stand now I think you're best bet it to try and collect the needed information from patrons during this renewal cycle so that they can renew online when next year's subscriptions come out.

I haven't paid close attention to what's possible with the web API in a few years, so someone may have a better answer.
