Tessitura in Terminal services envrionment

Hi

We are running Tessitura in a TS APP on Windows 2012 servers.
Since v12 we are seeing that, particularly if you are viewing a Infomaker Report,  if you move from the TS APP to another window Tessitura vanishes - actually it becomes a little white strip just above the time in the status bar, and in extreme cases disappear completely (not even showing up in Task manager Applications although the process mstsc is still running).

Just wondering if anyone else has seen something similar?
And if they have are there any solutions?

Also on a related but slightly different note, has anyone got the Save as PDF functionality to work on a 2012 server?
I know the ghostscript driver is not signed and therefore can not be installed but have not yet found a good alternative to this.

Thank you

Mark

  • Our environment has some users in RDS on 2008R2, but I haven’t seen those issues you mention.

I do have a workaround for the Save as PDF functionality—the Ghostscript driver is recommended, but NOT required in order to create the Sybase DataWindow PS printer. You still need the gs folder in your PBVM, but you can create the printer using any standard PostScript driver. The Report Server documentation (while it does have some typos and is kind of confusing) suggests using the 'HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS’ driver as a tested alternative to the ghostpdf.inf driver. You install it the same way as a “FILE:” printer.

Both drivers do the same thing, which is output a PS file for GhostScript itself to turn into a PDF. Ghostpdf.inf is just specially tuned to output PS files that GhostScript likes to take as input.

  • I've got a workaround for the non-signed issue and have the Ghostscript printer now installed.  You need to "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" (done at usual F8 Advanced boot menu item).

I wrote a quick guide here more for my benefit, but happy to share:
