RADR Reality Ruminations

RADR. That's still a thing, isn't it?

Thought I heard someone say it was gone, but I see no such news on the site about it.

  • Matt,

Here is some information on RADR

I am writing to let you know that the Tessitura Network has made the decision to discontinue the Remote Access Disaster Recovery (RADR) service at the end of the first quarter of next year, March 31, 2014.  RADR has had very low adoption overall and we are now phasing it out over the next few months in order to more efficiently focus our managed service effort on Remote Access Managed Plan (RAMP) – which is an option you might consider as we discontinue RADR.  We understand that RADR is an important component of your overall disaster recovery strategy and as such we are providing over a four month notice of the program’s dissolution to give you time to explore other options.

As noted, one Network option that you may wish to pursue is moving your locally installed Tessitura system to our hosted RAMP environment.  With RAMP, the Tessitura Software is administered by Tessitura Network on remote servers in a secure data facility with hardware and Microsoft SQL database administration provided as a bundled service.  Disaster Recovery and redundancy is a primary feature of RAMP so this option would provide you with the same benefits that RADR does in terms of protecting you from disasters that may occur locally.  Over 100 organizations of all sizes utilize our RAMP Tessitura hosting service. They have found that it enables them to focus on being great functional users of Tessitura and do not have to worry about buying and managing servers, doing upgrades, dealing with backups and much more.  It is a growing trend - well over 75% of our new license holders choose RAMP from the start, and a great many long time license holders have switched.  We would be glad to review any questions, provide pro-forma costs, and assist in any way possible if you would like to explore more about it.  We have a large team that supports this and it is monitored 24x7.  Here is a link to an article on the Network’s website that addresses the RAMP hosted option.  If you are interested in learning more about RAMP, please let me know and I will put you in touch with a team member to talk you through this option.

If you have any questions about the discontinuance of the RADR service effective March 31, 2014 please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yep, we have been asked to find another solution.  RAMP is not a solution for us.  Let me know if anyone does find one because you can do web/cloud services because most of them are not pci compliant.
