When we go to V12, I will need to create a lot of price templates in a very short time. I know that you can copy from one template to another. I am wondering if any one has come up with a labor saving way of importing prices from a spreadsheet, or some other form of wizardry. I would love to hear about it.
Thanks!
Hi Ryan,
That will work great for us. Thanks for pointing the option out. I had missed it!

Hi Lou,
While I don’t have any wizardry for you, having just built our next season in v12 I do have some suggestions/tips that you might find useful, and that may save you some time. NOTE: This may all depend on which release of v12 you are on. We are currently on v12.0.2.4633.
Compare building your templates directly in the template module vs. building them in a performance and saving them to a template (right click on the price layer for that option). I’ve noticed that in working in the performance it seems to save your work a lot quicker than saving in a template. Also, within a performance you have the ability to bulk edit, which is not currently available in templates. This is especially useful if you need each template to have the same prices but a different GL assigned to them. When you copy a template, though you can set the ‘Default GL’ it doesn't actually apply that GL to the prices that you copied (again, this might vary depending on the release of v12). This is where the bulk edit would come into play. I only thought of using a performance as a template building ground after building everything in the template module, so you might run into some quirks, but if I could do it all over again I'd definitely give it a try.
Hope that information is helpful to you, and feel free to shoot me an email if you have questions.
Cheers!
-Ryan
