We have a controlled batch that closed, but when we tried to post it, we get an error message that says Batch no. XXXXX is out of balance, The posting has failed. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this error before and were you able to resolve the issue.
We have tried to adjust the pledge amount and recd amounts through the back end but have not been able to post
Seems like I ran into this several years ago. I would suggest the other thing to look at would be all the T_CONTRIBUTION records associated to the batch (from the back end) and make sure that there isn't something hiding in the batch that doesn't show up on the front end for some reason. Wracking my brain to remember the solution we came up with last time and while I can't recall exactly, I'm almost certain it had to do with something that had been deleted form the controlled batch prior to closing.
You might also look for anything in T_CONTRIBUTION that has a mir_lock value equal to the batch number.

Also keep in mind that the control totals do not include On Account totals. If there are on account transactions in the batch they need to be removed from the amount recived totals.

Are you suggesting that we reopen the closed batch and make changes? How do you reopne a closed batch?

Sorry Ed, I missed the part about the batch being closed. For sure you want to open a TASK ticket for this as something has happened to the batch as it should not have been allowed to close out of balance.
