Source Usage

Is adding a Source Usage a custom feature?

If not how would I do this?

  • Hi Anna;

    When I was looking in Tessitura help it sounded like you could get categories added to this.

    In our case we have Ticketing, Development, but we also have a School who use different source codes and for the Users who need access to this it would be nice if the usage could categorize this as I am assuming this is done at a batch type level rather than a User Securities level.

    Cathy,

    Usage is not a configurable field.  The application uses this setting to determine which sources will be available in the source code pop-up in orders and contributions.  If you want to be able to categorize sources at the source level the source group field is probably a better bet.

    Best,

    Anna

  • Cathy,

    This is not a security setting but an application area setting.  The Tkt usage is for use in the source window in ticketing orders and the Cont usage is for use in the contributions area.  There are a lot of ways to make the source pop-up more useful to your disparate users.  First off make sure you are promoting where you can and loading a constituent before you open the source pop-up.  Actively manage both the start and end dates on sources as well as the hotlist so the most important sources for each area filter to the top and the sources no longer in use are removed from the list.  Teach your users to sort by appeal so they can easily navigate to the sources for their appeal.  Kevin and I did a webinar a few years ago that I think still rings true on how to best manage sources.

    Best,

    Anna
