Stored Procedure for Infomaker

Hi all,

I'm modifying a few reports and order acknowledgements in Infomaker but 'Data Source' in the Design menu option is disabled.  Does anyone know why this is?

Cheers,

Kevin

  • I misspoke slightly here.  You can edit the existing set of columns in column specifications.  You cannot, however, change the stored procedure used on an existing datawindow in Infomaker.  You can do this in PowerBuilder which we use for much of the client application.  Sorry for any confusion here.

    What you can do is:

    1.        Create a new datawindow using a custom stored procedure which has the same result set as the existing datawindow’s stored procedure.

    2.       As long as the columns are in the same order and use the same names, you should be able to select all objects from the existing sample acknowledgment and copy/paste into the new datawindow.

You might get an error saying “One or more objects on the clipboard are not valid.”, but any that are valid will copy to the new datawindow.

Hope this saves you a bit of time!

If it’s grayed out/inactive, it means that Column Specifications is already appearing somewhere docked on your Infomaker window.  To change the layout, find the pane.  To change the stored procedure, right click anywhere on the Column Specifications panel.

have a 'similar' problem. I'm new to Infomaker, have an old Tessi Order acknowledgment that I modified to show seat and row numbers. I saved the existing stored procedure under a new name and am trying to find out how to change the 'source ' of the report form the original stored procedure to the modified one ....

On the Menu bar, under View - I see Column Specifications - but it's grayed out ......

    Thanks for any info ...

    Hi, Kevin,

This is because a SQL query is not used as the datasource for the datawindow.  If you open the Column Specifications view for the datawindow, right click and select Stored Procedure from the menu, you can view the setup for the stored procedure associated with the datawindow.
