We just ran the identify duplicates utility (AP_IDENTIFY_DUPLICATES) based solely on eaddress and we have quite a large list. 1 problem is that the utility identified many potential duplicates from inherited information, ex the A1 and A2 affiliate records have inherited eaddresses from the household.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
I believe this looks for all accounts that have that email address and since those records inherited the email it will pick them up.
I think to avoid this you may want to include name along with email address for the match. That way it will not only look for email address but also lname and fname.
i cant do it on just name. we had a very long list of email addresses that were uploaded without names for mailing lists. I am trying to combine those with known existing records. The big question is why it only picks some of the records with inherited info as dups and not all of them.
