Hello everyone,
I am looking for any information or learning tools that anyone might have around learning SSRS reporting,
Also if anyone has a beginners data set that I can use in my Test environment so that I can have a practical example to learn with?
regards
Claire Hayes
Are you well versed in SQL? If not I would start there.
Here are some link for SQL.

Here is a link to the basics for SSRS.

This requires a quick, free registration, but I like the Stairway series on SQLServerCentral.com:
Here’s part 1 of 11 (I think)

Hi Claire!
I did a 4-day online class early on through Pragmatic Works that was pretty good. It looks like it has doubled in price though since I took it - so you'd have to weigh that part of it:

It's not Tessitura specific certainly, but I find the session presentations from the annual TLCC conferences to be *incredibly* helpful in this regard. Here are some links to those:

Also some more helpful Tessitura training from Ryan (above):

Hope that helps!

Hi Claire,
I'm still working through it myself, but Brian Larson's SSRS book was recommended to me very highly:
http://amzn.com/0071760474
Obviously it's not Tessitura-specific, but they do have a sample database you can download and work through the examples with, which has been very useful for me.
Thanks for the info... Starting a T-SQL course really soon :)
Thanks for that Matthew,

I second Larson's books. I have read previous versions.
Thanks J

Claire, some great tutorials for beginners on the latest versions of SSRS (that comes with SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2 or 2012) can be found here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb522859(v=sql.105).aspx. You can download and install sample AdventureWorks database to work with these tutorials.
