I am looking to create a dashboard for our 4 MAD parties, just to see where we were 2 weeks before each party for sales (we are currently 2 weeks before our 4th party and I want to see if ticket sales are on track compared to the other 3).
I want a line graph where each line is a different one of those performances in that Production Season. So my "Break By" is Performance and my filter is "Production Season" just to get those 4. And my "Value" is Ticket Count.
The problem I'm running into is my X-Axis. I don't know what filter/formula to use since the week over week isn't by year. All 4 of these events are in the same fiscal year (October, December, February, March). How do I tell Tessitura "Give me sales by week for each of these 4 performances starting with the first on-sale date of each." And I want the lines layered on top of each other, so that day 1 of on-sale is day 1 for all 4, regardless of actual date...and so on and so on.
Is that possible doing something canned, or do I have to start getting into the custom formulas?
Hi Chelsea,
From the SEAT & TICKET DETAILS dimension, available as Days, Weeks or Months from Onsale
Order Weeks Since On-Sale For SLIs, the number of weeks between the order date and the performance on-sale date. The performance on-sale date is the Default Sales Dates Start Date.
I used the Order Week formula, but it's laying out weird. Because they are all different start dates they are not layering on top of each other like I want them to.
How do I get all 4 of those lines to overlap?
From the looks of it they maybe all have the same Default Sales Dates Start Date in their General setup pages. Can you confirm?
Yes they do. That date gets auto-populated when we build/copy the Performances. We typically build the entire season in one day. We will then pull the TNEW link and make it live about a month or so prior to the event. So they technically won't start selling until a month or so before because without the link nobody has access.
Can I go back in and change that date after the fact? Meaning after tickets have sold? If I can change those Default Dates to when we actually made the TNEW link live, would that give me the data/layout I am looking for?
You can change it after the fact, but I think you will have to do it in SSMS. Season Manager doesn't have a field for it.
Yeah I just asked our content manager and she said TNEW doesn't record those dates.
So no one will tell you when they planned the onsale? You could "cheat" and call it days from MIN (Order Date).
I've changed the Default Sale Start Date in SSMS in bulk but you can change it in the performance in the client.
For me it's usually set to whenever we wanted the MOS start date to be for the first sale.
