Trying to filter by genre, which for us are assigned as keywords on the Production level, but I don't see that as an option in Analytics.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Thanks, Ryan
Hi Ryan,
This is something we have struggled with repeatedly as a performing arts organization that presents well over a dozen different genres.
The custom field options are not viable on a performance level as they do not show up in Analytics for Seat/Ticket cube. We did not want to use Performance Type due to how TNEW uses it as a configuration setting and adding that many opens a can of worms online around those various settings. What I'm in the process of doing is hijacking our TR_PERF_STATUS field for Genre.
I know this may not work for all organizations as they may be used for various other things, but our organization uses it simply as an on sale, off sale, cancellation, etc. flagging. Because there is already an "On Sale" checkbox which actually takes care of it, the overall use was redundant. I double checked the User Guide to be sure of any issues I would run into, but it appeared to be non-existent/minimal. It may not work for your organization, but maybe it will for someone reading this at some point. I'm slowly working my way through updating performances to reflect genres using this field. Obviously this does not resolve/help those performances which may fall under multiple genres, but until Tessitura does something productive to implement this functionality, I'm hoping it proves to be a workable solution.
Best of luck,Maurice
