Analytics - changing time frames - a way to shift between day/week/month

I've built lots of dashboards looking at things like order date - is there a way to filter a dashboard to change the widgets to change between showing data on a day/week/month/year view?

Like I'd want to see the past three months, but instead of seeing all the data as monthly i might want to see what's happened by week/day - is there a way to do this without just building more widgets for different time frames?

Many thanks,

Brodie

  • I may be speaking out of turn, but I believe one easy way to do this would be to add a filter at the dashboard level for Order Date, but then use the “Filter” option next to that criteria and narrow it down to a specific relative time frame…see below.

But I might be wrong on this…anyone else feel free to chime in if there’s a better way to do this!

  • Hi Anh,

It's not so much about pulling different date ranges it's more about changing how a data range is displayed and doing that across the whole dashboard, not just one widget.

Thanks for chiming in though! I'm aware I'm struggling to articulate the issue clearly. Have commented on Chris's response below with further - which hopefully might make things a bit clearer!
