Heat map with zip code lines for constituencies

Hi! I am new to Tessitura and I have been trying to find a way to make a heat map with constituencies by zip code. Its shows it at the following link on the Tessitura website, under Education. https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Features/Education

This would be very useful for us, but I'm not sure if it requires additional software or an add on.

Thank you in advance for any help!

  • Hi Megan,

Thank you for referencing that page on our website. The image there was inadvertently retained from a legacy reporting tool. In Tessitura Analytics, there is now a Scatter Map widget which enables mapping at various geographic grains down to post code, with options for the size and color of the data points to be dependent upon the aggregated values associated with those regions. Here we're seeing a count of constituents for the size, the total ticket paid amount for the color, and an additional detail value in the tool tip for the average ticket paid amount per constituent in the selected geographic area.

Scatter maps do not currently support geographic shapes. We do have an enhancement request for this, however, this is easily achieved with Excel:

    1. Create a Pivot widget of Primary Post Code Short and the value you'd like to map
    2. Download the widget to Excel
    3. Select the post code column and from the Data tab specify that the data type for the column is Geographic
    4. Select both columns and from the Insert tab select Map

More information on this process can be found in the Excel help pages.
