Comparing current ticket sales by YOY order date

Hi all,

I’m having a slight conundrum with my Year-on-Year widgets in analytics. My aim is to be able to compare production seasons and track how many tickets have we currently sold for 2022 compared to historical production seasons this time last year, this time two years ago and so on.

I’ve taken inspiration from many a forum post and webinar and I’m using Order Days Prior to performance on the X-axis and then RSUM for my values, with a break by for production season which very nicely adds lines that I can compare with each other:

My difficulty is that I’m wanting to compare 2022 Live Sales data, with historical data from years past, specifically focusing on how many ticket sales have we had this time yesterday for 2022, 2019, 2018 and so on. Using the Order Days Prior to Performance in this way is currently including order dates beyond this time yesterday, thus inflating the number of orders from historical years.

I can achieve this by splitting out each year onto a separate widget, then manually adjusting the order date filter, day by day, but the aim here is to have it all on the same widget and it updating automatically based on relative YTD.

I feel like I need to put in some advanced date order filtering into my running sum, but don’t know where to start. Has anyone been able to achieve something similar with their YOY widgets?

Thanks in advance,

Ellen
