Combine Contribution and Plans cube data in single widget?

Hey Analytics friends,

I know the answer is probably no, but has anyone figured out a way to combine 2 cube's data in a single widget (I.e plans and contributions)

The below widget is from the contribution widget.

But boss wants me to add in a PLAN ASKS TOTAL column to the same pivot table to compare to the raised amount.

Additionally he wants a column with the delta of Funds raised, so I'll write a simple formula.

Any insight is appreciated!

Happy New Year!

  • We've wrestled with the same impulse on a few different fronts. I've solved for it by having a conversation with the team about how and where plans are used.

In circle giving and up, we use plans pretty well. So I pull in Recorded or Contributed Amount and have made charts very similar to this one.

With annual fund, the delta would only ever be against a lump-sum goal, which isn't in Plans anyway, so I build a widget entirely in the Contributions cube.

We have a dashboard in which there's a "Premiere Society & Major Gifts" widget which is the plans info, followed by an "Annual Fund" widget which is the other stuff. It's actually worked pretty well, but getting the team to think about those two fundraising efforts as a little distinct was key.
