Google Analytics 4 and e-commerce data capture

Hi has anyone else started work on setting up GA4 for TNEW. I have run into an issue capturing e-commerce data.
Below is a summary of our current setup.
We set up GA4 and have gotten transactions to work but no other e-commerce data. In Google Tag Manager, we set up the following tag, triggered by the receipt page URL.

I think the issue is GA4 is event-based. Currently, TNEW is pushing the below transaction, not an event like the Google Developer Documentation and the article that was referenced during TLCC (https://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-analytics-4-ecommerce-guide-google-tag-manager/).

Has anyone else run into this issue or found a workaround without customization to the TNEW data layer push? Thanks for any input or please let me know if you would be interested in working on a fix together?

  • Hi Jonathan - We haven't gotten this setup. I have talked quite a bit with Tessitura, but they don't have a timeline for the TNEW GA4 data layer updates. I would encourage you to open a ticket and let them know this is an issue for your team as well.

My team has started looking for vendors to explore the possibility of using custom javascript to convert the current TNEW data layer into what is needed for GA4.

Happy to help in any way I can.

    Best,
    Erin
