Difficulty Reconciling Seats & Tickets Cube vs Finance Cube

Hello,

I'm trying to reconcile the two cubes on any given month and am always off anywhere between ($500 - $10,000). They're set for the same production season with no other filters. Was wondering if anyone experienced something similar in the past and what steps they took. I've tried hours worth of different filters / dates. .dash in included.

Appreciate any tips / suggestions.

Thanks,

  • Hi Aaron,

It looks like you are comparing Order Date in the Seats & Tickets Cube to Transaction Create Date in the Finance Cube. While these can be the same date, they are not inherently the same. Unless it is your business practice to never make changes to an existing order, and to never backdate or futuredate an order, if you're only ever looking at one month at a time - or have any other date filters applied, this will be an apples and oranges comparison.

  • Thanks A.,

If I compare having both use "Order Date", the result is the same. So this would most likely be a result of making changes to an order?

  • Hi Aaron,

I'd expect them to match. A quick test with your dashboard, updated to use Order Date on the Finance widget does match in my sample database (which is admittedly not real-world data).

You might try right-clicking on a date that doesn't match, in each widget, and select Drill and then select Order ID from the data browser. Then you can go into the Performance Details or Price Type information from there and better isolate the discrepancy.

Feel free to open a Support ticket if you can't pin it down.

    Best,
    Chris

  • Thanks Chris,

We've confirmed that Order Date on each results in a discrepancy for all days, making isolating the issue difficult. We've opened a support ticket.
