We have a Contribution Custom field set as a currency data type and dollar edit mask but don't seem to be able to get this field to display correctly in Analytics as a Value. It wants to count unique for each contribution record even if I change the formula to Sum. It doesn't display what is entered in the field. I could move it to rows but can't do any calculations on it there or display it as a currency. Is it possible to use a currency custom filed under Values and if yes, what does one need to do to have it display with the real value entered in the field?

For the duration of v15, the custom fields for Orders, Contributions, and Plans are strictly text fields. The Tessitura application also stores the data as text, but does some handling when validating and presenting the custom fields' contents to make it look like the data type you've configured. In v16 we have Analytics plans to support the data types as configured in Tessitura, as well as showing them with their configured description from Tessitura, rather than just Custom 05.
