Hi all - please forgive me if this is an elementary question or have missed this solution. I am not on the fundraising team, but am the defacto analytics expert for our organization. I would love to create a column chart widget where the categories are ranges of contributions i.e. $1-10, $11-25, $26-$100. And I'd like the values to be the number of unique contributions within that range. Is this possible in Analytics? Seems like a useful visualization. I'd appreciate any help or alternatives that you have!
One way you could do this would be to use the "Current FY Giving Range" data point. You can customize the giving ranges for your organization in system tables!
Ah! Thank you!
If it turns out to your team to only wants to count gifts to a particular fund, say, or designation, you could also use a filter formula.
You could also use the Bucketing concept:

Like a frequency bar chart? You'd have to tinker with the Amount field to bin them together - which I'm not entirely sure if that is possible. But the contribution cube does have a Contribution Count field which could give you the number of unique contributions per dollar amount. It can be overwhelming if you can't bin those ranges together.
With Current FY Giving range it makes it really easy... that is your Break By. I built something like this a while ago... happy to share
