Has anyone created a widget in Analytics that shows if people are using gift certificates (or on-account money) to make donations? I have one setup based on the Cancellation Impact Dashboard that shows if people are purchasing performances using GCs or On Account, but I would like to be able to see if people are donating that money. We process them as Tax Credits, so they aren't a contribution in the traditional sense. So it is basically one payment method moving to another payment method.

I don't have a widget doing this specifically, but it's definitely possible! If you use the Finance cube, you could filter on
Payment Method = Gift Certificates
Debit Amount = 0 (this gets you just the amount they redeemed)
Contribution Type = Gift/Pledge (deselect (none) to remove non-Contribs)
I just tried adding the Contribution Type filter to a widget I have that records all GC redemptions and it looks like it's working from a first glance.
I alos have Transaction Type set to remove Zero Adjustments, but after I added the Contrib Type filter, my numbers didn't change when I toggle it on and off - I think you could skip that one.

Thank you for sharing this! The only thing that doesn't work for our organization is that I'm trying to track non-contribution donations, if that makes sense. We have something called a Tax Credit, which is like a contribution, but it keeps the money (finance wise) on the ticketing side, so there is no gift/pledge recorded. Basically, they are redeeming the GC to a different payment method (almost like a return but the money doesn't go back to the patron).
I know that typically you can have two filters of the same data field, so that's where I'm running into a dead end. Sorry if I wasn't clear initially!!
Ooh, no that makes sense now! Does it have it's own GL Code? Maybe you could filter on that?
